Looking to Super Charge your Running Plan?
If you’re like me, you’ve been leading an active lifestyle for most of your life but haven’t made a lot of progress when it comes to speed or distance. In fact, you might be someone who has stalled out at “walking” with hopes and dreams of someday being a runner. Or, maybe you’re already a runner but find yourself hovering around the 12 to 14 minute-per-mile pace. Or worse yet, you may have tried upping your game but found that your knees or ankles didn’t want to play any more!
If any of these scenarios sound familiar to you, you can super charge your running like I did, and either literally or figuratively go from 5K to 50K in no time at all! You see, I ran track in high school and kept up with my running afterwards but never really made the transition from recreational jogger to runner until recently. I had done a little self-training a decade ago and managed to complete a Disney half-marathon-but it was the hardest thing I had ever tried to do! And last year around this time I put in a little more effort and ran two 5Ks with decent results for my age. But it wasn’t until I started running with a group of local ultra trail runners that I saw any major improvements. And just a month ago, I completed my first 50K race (31.2 miles!)!
All of my recent success got me thinking about how much I’d like to share what I’ve learned with others. I guess it’s the teacher in me!
